My House, My Town, and My School encourage students to explore and interact with over 400 functional vocabulary words in realistic contexts. You select which scenes to use and how many items are shown in each scene. Using Laureate’s Optimized Intervention® technology, the programs begin by offering instruction on each object in a scene. Then the student is asked to identify the items without instruction. Once the student can identify each vocabulary item in a scene without instruction, the program automatically moves to the next scene. Optimized Intervention® can also be used to teach the function of each item. Comprehensive built-in reports document performance and ensure accountability.
My House helps students develop independence in their homes by teaching over 140 vocabulary
items found in six rooms: living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room.
My Town teaches over 130 vocabulary items found in six community settings: doctor’s office, dentist’s office, restaurant, park, city, and suburban neighborhood.
My School prepares students for school experiences by teaching over 130 vocabulary items in six
school settings: classroom, gym, cafeteria, library, music room, and main entrance.
