World War II began when Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. It was the second terrible, expensive, and tragic war that lasted six years and involved over 200 countries. Students will learn about Germany’s role and the major battles, including Pearl Harbor and Normandy. Our resource provides ready-to-use information and activities for remedial students in grades five to eight. Written to grade and using simplified language and vocabulary, social studies concepts are presented in a way that makes them more accessible to students and easier to understand.
