Guideline Math Paper <show description>
Guideline Math Paper is designed to assist students who are having difficulties completing basic mathematic algorithms (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). The paper is formatted to help students stay within the various columns associated with place value (units, tens, hundreds). The paper likely will be used most frequently with students who are working at the beginning stages of completing algorithms; however, the paper can be used with students of any age who have difficulty completing multidigit algorithms. All of the eight types of paper are color-coded to aid students, and two types (Set A) have raised lines to help very young students with place-value procedures. Four forms (Set B and Set C) provide prompts to help students in regrouping or borrowing.
The Guideline Math Paper materials include eight types of paper divided into four sets. 100 sheets per set (50 copies of both types in a set).
The components of the sets are described below:
Set A: Raised-Line Addition and Subtraction (No grouping or Borrowing):
2 digits + or – 1 digit, and 2 digits + or – 2 digits
Set B: Addition (With or Without Regrouping):
2 digits + 1 digit, and 2 digits + 2 digits
Set C: Subtraction (With or Without Borrowing):
2 digits – 1 digit, and 2 digits – 2 digits
Set D: Multiplication and Division
