Phonological Awareness Games was designed for use by speech– language pathologists, special education teachers, reading specialists, parents, and tutors. It provides fun and engaging activities for practicing phonemic awareness skills essential to Pre-K to third-grade students who have difficulties with auditory processing, speech articulation and phonological processes, or reading readiness skills. Depending on what adaptations you make to the basic activities, Phonological Awareness Games can be used with individuals or groups of any size.

Phonological Awareness Games was designed to be played with nearly unlimited flexibility. The instructor can modify the targeted skill(s), difficulty level, and game format. The games outlined in this instruction booklet provide the creative teacher, clinician, parent, or tutor with basic guidelines for some of the many activities that can be developed using these materials. Of course, you are encouraged to adapt these suggestions to the needs of your particular students and to develop new and exciting activities to improve their phonological awareness skills.
